About Budoshuya.com

Welcome to my wine shop.
Please allow me to introduce myself. My name is Doug -- but you can call me the --
California Wine Guy
As you might imagine, I love good wine. I'm also very lucky
to live here in California where some of the world's very best wines are produced.
As a single guy, I've had to learn how to cook for myself and one of the things I enjoy most is having friends over to my home to share dinner and a good bottle of wine. Now I'd like to share my favorite wines with you -- my friends in Japan.
The wines you will find here are ones I personally think are great and I hope you will agree. Visit my online store often. To keep things interesting, I plan to continuously update the wine list. Some of the wines I plan to offer will be quite rare and only available in very limited quantities - so when I can offer them, you can be sure they won't last long. Of course, once you join my wine club you'll be kept informed about new offerings and changes to the wine list (to join, just create an account).
If there is a special wine you would like, please let me know and I'll be happy to try and find it for you. You can contact me directly through the contact page. I understand a little Japanese. However, if you can, it's best to use English because I am just a beginner with my Japanese.
Because my Japanese is limited, I've worked hard to make the purchase and order management process on this website as simple and straight forward as possible. All orders are shipped freight and duty collect via Yamato Transport USA. Please be prepared to pay Yamato for freight and duty costs when your order arrives. At present, I only make one delivery each weekend to Yamato. Usually this is on Saturday. Therefore, in order to make sure your order is included in the current week's delivery, the order must be placed before 8AM Friday morning, California time. Orders received after this time will not be delivered to Yamato until the following weekend.
For more information about how I operate this store, please be sure to read all of the information pages on this website -- particularly the FAQ and Order Status pages -- so that you will know how things work and what to expect. Also while I have your attention, I'd like to remind you to please provide your name and address using Romaji characters so that I can properly prepare the necessary shipment documents. Also, please do not specify a post office as your address. Yamato will not make deliveries to post offices.
Finally, I'd like to say thank you for your support and patronage. If you like what you find here, please be sure to tell your friends.
